THE SAS ADVANTAGE!

Students

Our students are challenged by learning and social/emotional disabilities and have incredible potential for success. They need the right combination of supports and staff who believe in them. Our students succeed because they get what they need at Southeast Alternative School.

Achieving

We help students to set and to reach reasonable goals. Our students learn about themselves and their strengths, develop healthier relationships and make better personal choices, improving the success of transitions back to their public schools. While at SAS our students work toward their high school diplomas, explore vocational interests, prepare for independent living and experience community service learning.

Success

One measure of success is the MCAS. Since the class of 2003, when achieving competency on the MCAS became a prerequisite for earning a high school diploma, all but one of our seniors has been able to “pass” this test and earn his high school diploma.
